The Death Designer
at the Diner of Destiny
Dining at The Diner of Destiny is like a lucid dream,
One always ready and waiting for you to arrive~ you don’t even have to call,
One with all your loves and experiences framed up on the walls.
You can always order up more purpose and dreams like it’s just in your muscle memory. But if and when you’re especially lucky~
You could be sat in a booth with The Death Designer!
She’s so cute, couth and frequently at the diner…
She spends hours people watching, doodling on the menu,
pretend-sipping black tea and so curious about you!
The Death Designer always carries a puppet on her right hand that’s cloaked in black, carrying a scythe like the grim reaper. It’s quite contrasting to her very colorful playful outfits and joyful nature. She’s tasked with the serious role of designing possibilities after death even though she is not alive anymore technically; she lives on with all who dream and who can still order up destiny.
She speaks with her puppet in silly and serious voices, giggling over even life and death’s hard choices. The Diner of Destiny staff love to serve her even though she can’t consume their offerings. She’s more like a lively ghost incapable of haunting.
Her name never stays the same. One afternoon she’s Morté, by the evening she’s Thana, and on another day, she’s going by Zoe.
So you’ll always have to ask for it, but not to worry, because she has such an unforgettable face, just like a laughing light of innocence and grace.
Many have tried to claim what does or doesn’t happen after life in vain.
Ms. Death Designer will tell you, nobody knows for certain, but the possibilities are actually endless… and so far beyond what we can think or imagine with our brain, yet, that’s what she’ll ask you to do, if you're sat in her booth!
She’ll look you in the eyes with such certainty of unfathomably more, that just being near her makes you feel assured.
She’ll ask you to imagine what could be beyond the unimaginable, beyond life and death, what could come next?
Her puppet moans alongside her in funny voices about feeling into the possibilities and relaxing your brain like it’s a muscle you’re keeping flexed. In its spare time, the puppet loves to study the Diner of Destiny past receipts and paid checks, as though there’s a math problem to solve in the cost of dreams that’s complex.
It’ll groan about considering what possibilities increase your appetite for more of your purpose today; and to get everything else out of the way. Then, she’ll giggle and ask how much longer at the diner you can stay…
The Death Designer never wants a good time to end, and just loves to play.

I love it.
Thinking about the possibilities of death really drives home for me the visceral feeling of leaving friends and loved ones behind. Sure, I’m excited about what comes next, but I have so much love and care I want to show these people before I go. I want to give them as much as they can carry with them on their journey—if we have to part, I want to do so with full hands, especially theirs; I can always love more.
