The Memory Bank
and the Mind Safe
As though they’ve been expecting you, you’re immediately greeted by Richard Mentis and Val Yu Ledger.
“Boss in the house!” Rich Mentis gags while adjusting his blouse.
Val Yu Ledger smiles assuredly and adjusts her glasses like a library mouse.
The Memory Bank is home to the economics of all things your memories and the hoard of values secured in the Mind Safe, including any soul bonds still unsigned or blank. Richard Mentis is your Memory Bank representative and Val Yu Ledger your personal Mind Safe executive.
“Right this way, boss” Rich says leading you to a big comfy chair, “Good news is there’s no new memory loss!” He laughs while pretending to use a payphone to call in a prayer. Val Ledger waits nearby looking assured and overly aware.
“So, what particular memories are you looking to withdraw today?,” Rich nods at you, suddenly serious and pulling up a chair, “People *think memories are in their brain but it just balances the books and displays more like an ATM interface. Most of the storage and circulation of Memory Bank currencies is compounding interest elsewhere. All over the body, actually, your memories are circulating the body’s entire “sense” of economy to be fair. Especially your fascia, all those threads to that fabric are major memory holders with the Memory Bank. We’ve got your Muscle Memory Mutual Funds, Sensory Savings account, Emotional Checking account, Awe Assets, and a wealth of generational memories in the Ancestral Trust Fund. The whole record of all the experience behind you and right now~ Gosh, you’d be stunned. You don’t even notice all your own memories, let alone the ancestral ones stored in your cells’ electron spins. Thing is! What we need from you, is the right proof of identity… the right passwords and pins. Then, we can retrieve whatever memorable vivid detail you’re seeking under your skin.”
You adjust your posture and chin.
Rich carries on once you don’t say anything, “It’s for your own security, y’know, you wouldn’t want just anybody accessing your visceral memory currency, of course. Val has her protocols for verifying your mind is accessing the safe and not your brain trying with intellectual force.”
Val Ledger adds professionally, “It’s just a security measure to identify and properly direct the deposit source.”
You shrug.
Rich jitters his knee looking smug, “The pins are usually a specific flavor, a particular chord of feelings, with a specific tone in how a word is said and with a tone of color at a certain time of day mixed in… Or y’know some passwords are just particular words or sentences, but you’ll still need some sensory pins to access particular vivid sentiments.”
Val Ledger interrupts, “Perhaps, instead you’re here to make a deposit? Follow me. The Mind Safe is in a little secret room like a closet. It’s full of all your most precious values with their unique recipes and formulas to what caused it. Some of your values appreciate over time better together and become like a composite.”
You stride next to Val as she takes you through back rooms of the Memory Bank.
You suddenly realize that last guy you forgot to thank.
“So, my job is to identify who you are in the grand scheme of yourself… if you’re an emotion, a habit, a sense, a knee jerk reaction, or a thought agent from the brain, then you can’t make a deposit into the safe here today. You must be your whole mind with your heart and brain coherently aligned,” Val says escorting you through another maze of Memory Bank back rooms, “It’s very important because what’s inside the Mind Safe at the Memory Bank is like the gold standard backing all the Memory Bank currencies. There won’t be good rates at the Cosmic Exchange if your Mind Safe isn’t secured with supreme priorities.”
The Mind Safe is in a janitorial closet that looks unassuming alright. There’s just a bunch of brooms and laundry baskets when Val turns on the light.
“Here we are,” she says, “Sorry, it’s so tight. Mind Hackers tend to overlook what’s hidden in plain sight. Since they’d be looking to steal your memories or values without even a fight, it’s just a minor sleight of hand out of spite.”
You look down at your shoes and wonder how they’ve become untied.
Perhaps just following along with Val Yu Ledger in stride.
She looks you in the eye.
“Okay,” she sighs, “time for you to pass the mind full protocols. The heart tells no lies, the brain is coherent, and the ego has no authorization to sign.”
She hands you a clipboard with a sheet of paper, “This just lists reminders to yourself on how to find your mind, and get the heart to align. If you don’t pass today, the deposit gets declined, but you can try again another time, like not to worry, it’s fine."
಄ Full Mind Check List Pre-Deposit Review
/Mind Safe Executive; Ledger, Val Yu/
Date;_________________
☐ Breath GPS - Notice without adjusting; where does your breath land when you’re not thinking about it? The brain will immediately try to control it. Let the breath just be where it is and notice observation of the brain activity. Ask how you’re really feeling, not what you’re thinking.
☐ Thought Weather Report - What’s the forecast been like in your brain? What are your thoughts doing right now? Fast, slow, loud, or silent? Cynical? Curious? Stormy? Inviting? Notice how you observe and report on the brain’s weather but you are not it. Notice if there is a weather pattern of your brain trying to break into the Mind Safe without your mind having the say.
☐ Somatic Verification - Use your brain to visualize tension melting downward as you scan with your mind from your feet upward;
Ankles, calves, shins, knees, thighs, and the backside, hips, bottom, belly, lower back, ribs, shoulder blades, spine, chest, inner organs, heart, throat, neck, ears, jaw, chin, cheeks, nose, skull, eyelids, top of your head and hair
☐ Heart Authorization - Place your hand on your chest. Breathe your attention to your heart space directly. Use your brain to imagine the magnetic torus field of energy it creates from pumping blood throughout your whole body. Lean into the intelligence there and even synapses of neurons there. Is there something your heart already knows that your brain hasn’t processed yet? Don’t answer but just feel into the possibility now.
☐ Ego Check - Is any part of you performing this checklist? Trying to do it too correctly, critically, or silly? Identify it, thank it, and dismiss it. It cannot make executive deposits or be deposited into your Mind Safe, no matter how convincing it may be that it’s in good taste. Egos have no value here and therefore even more desperate to get in, is often the case.
☐ Declaration of Deposit - It’s very important to the integrity and appreciation of all your memory economies circulating body-wide that what’s kept in the Mind Safe is of utmost true value. Be sure the value deposited today is not just a train of thought gotten lost or a response to an emotion now acting as boss. You can always deposit into the Mind Safe at another time if right now doesn’t align.
To yourself and all your shareholders of cells to your body with your memory currencies in circulation, You hereby declare you are true to yourself to all the best of your abilities and truly believe you are full of mind, heart and brain aligned,
Signed;

Val postures formally, handing you a bottle of ink and another sheet of paper, “If you’re ready to deposit, only sign if you feel mindfully aligned. Use a pen and begin drafting today’s declaration of value. It’s not only something with necessity to be kept in mind and safe, but something cherished, respected, and continually integrated. Something more than can be only symbolically stated. Something you would protect and uphold even if you were left behind and nobody else waited. Hold it in mind so clearly it nearly illustrates itself on the page like it was just fated. Really this imprint is whatever you make it. Write it, draw it, compose it, or just state it. You name it.”
////The Dream Elevator has actual journalling space which is cool.////
Val puts two fingers to your neck and then your wrist.
She’s recording your pulse and asks you to ball your fist.
You ask where the Mind Safe actually is.
She tells you you should remember if your brain isn’t remembering but your mind is.
Also, that your heart and brain coherence must persist.
“Your mind has to remember the feeling that unlocks the safe now, it’s usually tied to organic sentiments of bliss and what makes it all worthwhile to exist. That’s the only hint really that I can give to assist… I can mention that it’s every experience of love in all its forms ever recorded in memory as a little gist,” Val says reading your face as though it may tell of something she missed.
You look around the room ‘thinking’ something may jog your memory or you may see the safe and know what to do then. You consider what “value” even really means and how often you’ve made deposits or when. You consider what Val Yu means and how she was hired. You notice trying to sustain the heart brain coherence even is making you feel a bit tired. Your brain is getting frustrated about where the safe is and keeps notifying your mind that scanning the tiny room again is required. There’s old memory manuals stacked on a shelf with a jar of honey next to a box of “Celestial Time Tea” that looks expired. Val stares up at you assuredly, but also looking a bit sleepy and uninspired.
“Try not to get frustrated, feel rushed, or wired. Just breathe, and remember you’ve done this before. Just let it come to you, like a deja vu you’ve conspired,” Val says noticing your untied shoes while glancing at the floor.
It’s kind of scary not to be sure.
It’s your own Mind Safe but its location you can’t even account for.
“If I remember correctly, you break a fourth wall, and one of these walls becomes transparent is all…” Val looks from your left eye to your right, and back again, “I don’t know how you do it, but to me, it’s felt as though the subtlety is small.”
You realize Val doesn’t know the exact location of the Mind Safe either.
The space feels like it’s getting smaller, and you take a breather.
Some inhales and exhales really helps to expand your senses into the aether. You remember part of it; is that your Mind Safe is all yours and you’re a believer.
Another part is being one with all your values already inside, and allowing them to be the guide. You sigh. You question if your ego is still waiting outside or back in and artificially filling you with pride, but the observation of the question itself is actually a good sign.
You remember that with your own Mind Safe, observing with your mind and having your brain under its thumb aligned with your heart just fine~ it’s something that can’t be denied. Once one with all your values, you get bleary-eyed.
The wall with your Mind Safe tucked safely within it becomes transparent, and mirrors all that to you is already inherent. The password and pins is something only your heart and brain know as coherent.
You can turn the dial key properly, while in a safe space liminally, and the memory of all your values mirroring through you infinitely.

You trip over your shoe laces. Val bends down to one knee and ties them up, giggling at your graces. Val escorts you out of the Memory Bank backroom mazes while glancing over at you now and again in amazement. You’re wondering about if ever your Mind Safe goes through an appraisement.
Richard Mentis snaps his hands into finger guns smiling at you, while secretly hoping you don’t find a replacement. He appears to know you’ve realized you own the place but enjoy his familiar face and won’t send him to work in the basement.
“Let me know anytime you want to go through your Dream Deposit Box! There’s new postcards and also the monthly Taste Treasury catalogue in those docs,” Rich talks, “the wealth of your reveries is boomin! or y’know well, approx.~ Anyways, I’ll see you later, Boss!”
You remember to thank him gratefully for his time and charismatic sauce.
He blushes and balks.
Val Ledger blinks at you like a fox.
You bid your farewells graciously and exit to your day~to~day carried away back on the clock.
