The Mindsetter's Market
Stalls of Strange and Mindful Objects
The air is crisp and fresh like autumn,
It smells like fluffed cotton candy and apple blossoms.
Clouds squidge under your feet as you explore the vendors at this week’s Mindsetter’s Market. There’s all kinds of internal specialized optics, and a guy selling magic mental carpets. There’s a stall selling a curation of confections that act as confessionals and another featuring a panel of mind programming professionals. You can try experimental Genesis Gumballs by new and trendy mindful flavor designers or test out the brain massage on the thought recliners.
A little glowing glass ball on a table catches your eye, and you look up to see the stall’s sign; “Once Lost Marbles”, it reads with an underline.
“Have a closer look, you might remember something you misread or mistook,” the vendor smirks, scanning your eyes like they’re pages in a book.
You pick up a marble and gaze upon its middle,
Interlocking waves lap over each other like a riddle,
Suddenly an undertow of deja vu plays your mind like a fiddle.
The little marble is hot between your fingers,
Your brain is like a record player repeating an old conversation while the heat lingers.
You drop the warm marble back on the table as the vendor says, “Lost and Found Marbles are amusing little tools for great thinkers…”
You nod along though your eyes are looking to other stalls like traffic blinkers.
There’s one selling Sentiment Scales and Rumination Rakes.
A poster advertises, “Enter the weighty feelings and untangled thought patterns sweepstakes!”
Next to it, is a vendor passing out samples of Meditational Milkshakes.
A salesmen gestures at you, “Do you think too fast and furious? Test out some of our Brain Brakes!”
You pass by a stall selling Cerebral Cereal, featuring Cognitive Clarity Cornflakes.
They even have fresh Celestially Churned Brain Butter by Fairy Fountain Lakes.
You hear the Mental Metronome stall tickering away in different rhythms then randomly synchronizing to a satisfying harmony. There’s a line in front of the table selling supplements for what’s out of focus, called the Peripheral Pharmacy.
You float around the Market aimlessly,
enjoying the scent of sweet thought floss shamelessly.
There’s the Mindset Boutique stall, all fancy and minimal, with their latest mindsets catalogued. You pass a table displaying Brain Drains with a poster reading, “Is your cranium clogged?!” s
You spot a jar of liquid dream with a Stratosphere Sprite suspended in between.
“Cosmic Gene” the stall sign reads, with tables featuring collections of celestial consciousness beads and magic mind seeds. The sprite mirrors your desire to set it free, and the vendor taps the “Cosmic Currency Only” sign and the brochure that says, “All Proceeds Go to the Stratosphere Slipstream”.
The Taste Treasury has a big booth showcasing new and ancient records of reveries.
Next to it is a stall selling knick knacks designed as mindful memory accessories.
There’s fidget thought widgets of mantras and lucid dream supplementaries.
The Mindsetter’s Market always supplies new pathways for curiosity.
If you don’t think about it too hard, there’s even a possibility,
You can run into Professor Nero Plasticity,
Spotted exploring the stalls of strange and mindful objects, frequently.
